Roses Bower Farmhouse

Constructed in the late 1700’s, Roses Bower Farmhouse offers traditional Northumbrian accommodation with modern comforts. There is a large kitchen with oil fired aga cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, drier, electric cooker and an extensive range of kitchen utensils. A breakfast room, with television, is located off the kitchen, as is a small utility room and entrance porch. The dining room, with open log fire, has a large, dark oak dining suite, sofa, games cupboard and hi-fi unit. The lounge is equipped with a comfortable suite (washable covers), large coffee table, free-sat television, dvd/video-home cinema system, and an open fire. The hallway houses the library with local OS maps, tourist information, suggested walks, books, dvds, cassettes and videos. The front porch provides seating for two and opens onto a private garden with the most magnificent views along the Warksburn and over North Tynedale.

Upstairs, there are three double bedrooms, one of which is en-suite and a family bathroom(separate wc). The central bedroom has a futon bed (to maximise space and view from window) and the other two are conventional double beds. We provide mainly Egyptian cotton linen, towels and robes , and all beds are equipped with electric blankets and spare pillows/ winter duvets. A cot /linen , child gate, baby listener and high chair are available on request. Luxury toiletries are provided for your comfort.

A generous welcome pack is provided; milk, butter, tea, coffee, sugar, condiments, cornflakes, marmalade, local bacon and eggs, fruit bowl, kitchen basics (kitchen roll, cling-film, tin-foil, plastic bags, etc.), laundry, cleaning and dishwasher consumables, a bottle of wine, a local cake and the local newspaper.

There is oil-fired central heating throughout the farmhouse and logs are provided for the open fires. Garden furniture and a gas fired barbecue is available for guest use and a ‘Midgeeater’ is operating in the garden area. The water supply is from the farm borehole and it is filtered and is quality tested annually. Waste is discharged to a septic tank. Guests are encouraged to recycle their refuse.
